Do you work with residential homeowners?
Southwest Concrete Structures is built to serve commercial, industrial, and large-scale multi-family projects. Our operations, equipment, and scheduling are designed for high-volume, high-efficiency work that aligns best with general contractors, developers, and construction teams. While we appreciate interest from homeowners, we focus exclusively on professional partnerships.
How long before the new concrete can be used?
Cure times vary based on the mix design, application, and project needs. We offer a range of options—from fast-setting concrete ready for light traffic in as little as 6 hours, to standard mixes requiring up to 7–21 days for full curing. Your Project Manager will help determine the best option based on your timeline and usage requirements.
How do we keep traffic away from the work zone?
We plan all projects with traffic control in mind. Our team will coordinate with your site supervisor to provide proper notice and ensure cones, barricades, signage, and flagging are used to safely restrict access during active construction. Safety and minimal disruption are always priorities.
What’s the typical lead time to schedule a job?
We usually schedule projects 3–4 weeks out. However, depending on crew availability and project scope, we may be able to accommodate urgent requests with 7–10 days’ notice. Early communication helps us prioritize and prepare.
Do you have a set price per square foot?
No, and for good reason. Every job site is different. Factors like site access, demolition, subgrade conditions, structural requirements, and finishes can greatly affect cost. We provide tailored estimates that reflect the unique scope of each project—no guesswork, no generic pricing.
How long will the work take to complete?
Project duration depends on the complexity of the work. A straightforward paving job might take a day, while structural foundations or multi-phase commercial projects may take several days or weeks. Once we assess your site, we’ll provide a clear and realistic timeline.
Do you handle design or just build from existing plans?
We can do both. Our team is equipped to execute projects based on pre-existing plans or collaborate with engineers and architects to provide structural concrete design and planning support. We’re flexible and ready to meet you wherever you are in the process.
Can you work around active business hours?
Yes. We understand the demands of commercial spaces and can schedule work during off-hours, weekends, or in phases to minimize impact on your operations. Let us know your limitations and we’ll build a schedule that works for everyone involved.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely. We carry all required licenses and insurance policies for commercial concrete work. Compliance, safety, and professionalism are cornerstones of how we operate.
Do you handle permits or inspections?
We work closely with clients to ensure all necessary permits and inspections are scheduled and passed. While permitting is typically handled by the general contractor or project owner, we’re happy to coordinate and provide documentation as needed.
What types of concrete finishes do you offer?
We offer a variety of finishes depending on the application, including broom finish, smooth trowel, exposed aggregate, stamped textures, and saw-cut decorative patterns. If you're unsure what’s best for your project, we’ll walk you through the options based on use, durability, and aesthetic goals.
What do we need to do to prepare the site?
Site preparation varies by job. In general, we ask that the area is cleared of vehicles, equipment, and debris before our arrival. If demolition, grading, or hauling is part of the scope, we’ll handle it. Your assigned project contact will go over everything needed before we begin.
Can you remove old concrete before starting new work?
Yes—we provide full concrete demolition and removal services. Whether it’s an old slab, damaged driveway, or parking lot tear-out, we can clear the area safely and efficiently before placing new concrete.
Do you pour in bad weather?
Weather can affect scheduling, especially during rain or extreme heat. Our team monitors conditions closely and will proactively communicate with you if a reschedule is necessary. Our goal is to pour under optimal conditions to ensure long-term durability and finish quality.
Do you offer post-project support or maintenance?
While we don’t offer ongoing maintenance services, we do provide guidance on how to care for your new concrete surfaces, especially in high-traffic or harsh environments. If any issues arise related to the work we’ve performed, we’re just a phone call away.
Is your work backed by a warranty?
Yes. We stand behind our craftsmanship and offer limited warranties based on the type of work performed. Warranty terms will be outlined in your proposal and can vary depending on project complexity and material specifications.
Can you work as a subcontractor on larger jobs?
Absolutely. We frequently partner with general contractors, developers, and construction managers as a trusted subcontractor. Our team is equipped to handle coordination, reporting, safety protocols, and scope-specific responsibilities as part of a larger construction project.
What materials do you use?
We source high-quality concrete mixes from trusted local suppliers. All materials meet or exceed industry standards, and we can customize mixes for strength, setting time, and durability based on project requirements.
